EHS Analytical Solutions maintains membership in the Utility Safety & Ops Leadership Network (USOLN), the organization dedicated to promoting safe, secure, and productive utility work environments for utilities, contractors, and communication providers nationwide.

What is USOLN?

The Utility Safety & Ops Leadership Network provides a professional community, advocacy, and resources tailored specifically to the unique safety challenges of the utility industry. The USOLN is also the creator, owner, and governing body of the Certified Utility Safety Professional® (CUSP®) certification — the only credential designed exclusively for utility safety and operations professionals. The CUSP credential is fully accredited by the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), providing independent, third-party validation of its rigorous standards.

CUSP Requirements & Eligibility Pathways:

• CUSP Green (Safety/Training Management Pathway): Requires a minimum of 3 years (36 months) of utility experience in a dedicated safety or field training leadership role
• CUSP Blue (Operations Management Pathway): Requires at least 36 months of utility operations leadership experience (e.g., manager, supervisor, foreman) with at least 1 year in a role where safety activities (such as leading tailboards/FLRAs or safety committees) are a part of the official job scope
• Examination: Candidates must take and pass the core CUSP base exam along with at least one industry endorsement (such as T&D, Gas, Civil, Line Clearance, or Power Generation)
